Lifestyle advice is important. Eating healthily, having enough rest and exercising at the right levels will help you to achieve optimum health. You may push yourself beyond your natural capacity to work or exercise too much or not enough. Too much physical exertion can be as bad for you as too much rest. This will vary from person to person. I will encourage you to participate in activities that will help to improve your health. For example, simple breathing exercises practised for a short time each day can be very effective in counteracting the effects of stress.

Traditional Chinese Food Energetics

The Chinese understand that in order to remain healthy good nutrition is of fundamental importance. Each patient is looked at according to their constitution.  Guidelines will be given about what constitutes a healthy diet.  The aim is to create balance and harmony, using a flexible approach to how we eat.

There are no 'bad' or 'good' foods.  There are only foods that have certain natures, energetics and flavours.

To help improve your underlying symptoms or complaints, I may ask you to complete a food journal to encourage you to take responsibility for your own diet.  The importance of listening to your body will also be advised, so that you can choose food suited to your individual needs.
